Trendy and Sustainable are two words that best describe this piece. Dubbed the Corques Sofa, it uses cork sourced from leftovers in Portugese bottle cork factories, as a base material to mould a monolithic structure upon which colourful fabric forms the seating of the sofa.
Designed by Lucie Koldova for a Belgian design brand PER/USE the Corques forms part of a new selection of products that are simple and thoughtful. The lovely thing about the use of cork is that it offers both durability and elasticity in one natural, biodegradable package. Its shade also allows for varying bright coloured material to be used as seat fabric.
The simple geometry and bright colours make this a nice addition to any space.
