Seamlessly modular, versatile and infinitely applicable, Helix is a futuristic shelving system designed by OSW (Open Space Workshop). It debuted at the 2014 Milan Design Week and was quoted as being an architectural piece that creates an immersive spatial atmosphere which can crawl up the walls unto the ceiling, taking the furniture system beyond the realm of just furniture.
High on technology, the modules for the Helix system are created using a 5-Axis Robot that carves the forms out of a solid mass of competely recyclable material (EPS- Expanded polystyrene), which apparently is derived from corn. Its very lightweight and durable with a manufacturing process said to reduce CO2 emissions, granting it 'sustainable' status.
