The Marriotts are coming: Marriott Hotel projects in Lagos

"Africa is next up..." is a quote you often hear from international business analysts "The continent is ripe with opportunity..." echoes across the globe, beckoning investors to bring their money in and reap the benefits. A recent article by the Economist further cites Nigeria as the key testing ground for the African market, stating that "To make it big in Africa, a business must succeed in Nigeria, the continent's largest market". Well, foreign investors are taking this advise, and as a result, the hospitality industry in the country is exploding with the influx of big international brands despite all the challenges and obstacles that come with investing in Nigeria. The Marriot International Inc have realised the 'African Potential' and are making no small moves to capitalise. Aside from their recent purchase of South African Protea Hotel group (the largest in Africa) three major 200+ room properties are in the works in Nigeria's economic capital-Lagos.

Two designed by hospitality specialists G1Architecture, are the Lagos Waterfront Hotel and Marriot Hotel Ikeja. Both boast all the amenities and makings of a 5star destination.

Lagos Waterfront Hotel
Located next to the famous civic center along ozumba mbadiwe, the Lagos Waterfront Marriott has 200 rooms enjoying views of the Lagos Lagoon as well as a presidential suite, executive suite and 4 VIP suites. Ballrooms, meeting facilities, lounges, a spa and health club, along with world class restaurant and dining options would make this a great place for the business traveller.

Marriot Hotel Ikeja
Within close proximity to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, the 250 room Marriott Ikeja lies in the heart of the city 'capital'. As a 5 star destination, it offers multiple restaurants and dining options as well as meeting and conference facilities, with a note worthy, 800 person ballroom.

The Lagos Marriott Hotel
As yet another water front property, the development comprises two 20 floor towers, for a 300+ room hotel and 75 luxury apartments. A plethora of facilities can be found within the development along the Okunde water front.  Restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools, Bars, Clubs and Lounges, Gym and spa, Sporting facilities (including water sport), a Jetty and a Helipad, an international conference center with a capacity of 4000 with ample parking space for 1000+. This development offers everything conceivable for both tourists and business travellers.
